Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas.

Years of correspondence connect Misha and Ryen before real-world identity complicates their bond. Penelope Douglas explores identity, appearances and attraction in Punk 57, an English-language novel with adult content.

Why read Punk 57? The novel contrasts identity expressed in writing with public presentation. Longstanding written intimacy does not prevent misunderstandings when reputation intervenes. Story and central themes Misha and Ryen have exchanged letters since childhood. Their connection changes as their worlds move closer. Bullying, belonging and social masks accompany a conflict-heavy relationship. Who is this English book for? It is intended for adults despite the school setting, with explicit sexual scenes and mature subjects. Humiliating or controlling behaviour should not be treated as a healthy model.
