Sur le rêve - Sigmund Freud

Sigmund Freud presents his understanding of dreams and their connection with psychological life in Sur le rêve. A French-language introduction to a historical psychoanalytic perspective, distinct from contemporary sleep research.

Why read Sur le rêve? The text introduces central questions in Freud's theory of dreaming. It supports study of interpretation rather than a fixed dictionary of symbols. What concepts does it present? Manifest content, latent thoughts and dream-work structure the analysis. These psychoanalytic concepts do not all correspond to established neuroscience findings. Who is this French text for? It suits readers of intellectual history. Distinguishing observation from interpretation supports critical reading without diagnostic use.
